Happy New Year (nearly)

I caved. :( I bought 2 dresses and a necklace with the gift vouchers. It's kind of like a present, so I don't feel too guilty. Plus it is new year's eve.

New Year's Resolutions

I can't believe Christmas is over! I did have some clothes for Christmas which has managed to supress my urge to buy some. However the sales are starting and I did have vouchers for Christmas...does that count? Plus it's my birthday in January. Oh what to do...

Wardrobe Refashion 2007

I found out about Wardrobe Refashion in a knitting magazine and as I have to save for the wedding though it would be an ideal opportunity to finish off all my WIPs, and sort out my wardrobe and finally have a go at the Built by Wendy sewing book and patterns I bought months ago! I will try and keep an accurate record of everything i refashion, make, knit and wear. My first outfit was a Batgirl outfit for a fancy dress party on Saturday. And considering I haven't sewn for years I was quite impressed. It wasn't out of this world - but it did it's job and cost very little! Genius. I am currently in the middle of Christmas gift knitting - so can't see that I'll do much refashioning before Christmas but I do have a few days hoiday I can take from work, and have a dress I want to adjust for my work's Christmas party...so we shall see!!!

The Pledge

The Pledge I MiniRhi pledge that I shall abstain from the purchase of "new" manufactured items of clothing, for the period of 2 months. I pledge that i shall refashion, renovate, recycle preloved items for myself with my own hands in fabric, yarn or other medium for the term of my contract. I pledge that I will share the love and post a photo of my refashioned, renovoated, recylcled, crafted or created item of clothing on the Wardrobe Refashion blog, so that others may share the joy that thy thriftyness brings! Signed MINIRHI. I have signed up for 2 months - but hope to go a bit further as I am getting married in June and have a LOT of saving to do! Visit the Wardrobe Refashion Blog
